Cottbus is situated in the Lausitz, in the south of Brandenburg.
The Altmarkt and the Spremberger Straße (short: Sprem) form the center of Cottbus. It boasts beautiful old buildings mostly from the 19th century. The south end of the Sprem marks the Spremberger Turm, the landmark of Cottbus.
