Situated on the Potsdamer Platz near the centre of Berlin, the Altberlin hotel is housed in a historical 19th century building, which creates an ambience of old historical Berlin. The house was built in 1874 and was, until World War II, a residential building. The hotel has undergone a total renovation in 2000. The turn of the century style hotel even after extensive renovations has managed to preserve its nostalgic charm. Unique to the Altberlin are the rooms, which combine style of the period decor with all modern amenities and comfort.
